Assistant Press Operator
Location: Lenexa, KS
Shift: 12‑Hour Day Shift (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
Schedule: Alternating weekly rotation
Week 1: Monday – Tuesday – Wednesday
Week 2: Wednesday – Thursday – Friday
Week 3: Monday – Tuesday – Thursday – Friday
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Press Assistant to join our flexible packaging manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll work alongside a Press Operator to help prepare, run, and maintain high‑speed printing equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills in a stable, team‑oriented, and fast‑paced production environment.
What You Will Do
Assist the Press Operator with preparing the press and all job‑related materials
Monitor and adjust inks as needed, including checking ink viscosity on an hourly basis
Remove finished film from the machine and stage it on pallets for pickup
Retrieve and return inks to the ink room and clean machine components between jobs
Handle and manage hazardous waste in compliance with safety and environmental requirements
Follow all safety guidelines, wear required PPE, and meet OSHA standards
Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
Complete rework tasks as needed
What You Have to Offer
Ability to read a measuring tape
Strong desire to learn and grow within manufacturing
Ability to read, write, and follow simple, clear instructions
Previous production or manufacturing experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
