CPS Supply Chain Specialist in Lehighton, Pennsylvania

PURPOSE
To maximize customer satisfaction by providing a high-quality product on time, manufactured at the lowest cost, in the most efficient way within a safe and healthy environment thus contributing to the company's strategic objective.
BASIC FUNCTION
Under the general direction of the Controller, the Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for building supplier relationships, purchasing raw materials, inventory control and logistics, in addition to management of inventory globally and providing forecasts. In conjunction with accounting, oversee generation of production & inventory reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and maintains detailed inventories of material, supplies, and finished goods on site and in warehouses globally
- Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase the efficiency of the supply chain and profitability for the company
- Collaborates with other departments and Business Are Unit Directors to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide and effective supply chain
- Identified alternative resources for obtaining raw materials
- Meet with raw material suppliers to negotiate pricing & forecasting volumes of new and existing raw materials. Discuss and resolve availability, quality, price discrepancies on invoices and missing certificates of analysis
- Assist R&D in locating and sourcing new raw materials and continue to source lower cost alternates for existing raw material
- Send new vendors QMS Questionnaire, request ISO and Regulatory documents (TDS and SDS) and Certificate of Origin, notify accounting to send Credit References and Tax ID to set up account. Return completed QMS Questionnaire and related documents to Quality Director to add supplier to approved vendors list in ERP System and QCBD System. When required, visit suppliers for QMS audits
- Update Vendor files, spreadsheets, and ERP System with price increase of raw materials and containers
- Work in conjunction with accounting on questions regarding raw material pricing/purchases
- Assume responsibility for special projects, as directed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Required
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field
- Professional Certification - Certified Purchasing Manager (CPIM, CPM, pr CSCP) preferred
Training & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management in a global environment preferred
- Experience working in chemical manufacturing preferred

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Thorough understanding of company products and logistics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft and experience with ERP Systems(DCom preferred)
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for long periods of time, brief periods of walking, including stairclimbing, bending, and reaching to file paperwork, and periodically walk around the production floor. Ability to tolerate exposure to medium/high level of noise, odors, and dust form chemicals.
