Express Employment Professionals Garbage Truck Driver CDL-B in Lehighton, Pennsylvania
We are looking for a safety-focused CDL-B Driver to manage waste collection routes. This role is ideal for drivers who prefer a "cab-first" workflow. The driver is strictly required to remain in the vehicle throughout the duration of the collection route, only exiting to perform labor tasks once the vehicle has returned to the designated job site.
Key Responsibilities
- CDL-B Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a Class B commercial motor vehicle (rear-load or side-load) through residential neighborhoods and narrow municipal streets.
- In-Cab Route Protocol: Adhere to the safety policy of remaining in the truck at all times while on the collection route. The driver will not exit the vehicle for roadside pickups.
- Post-Route Site Labor: Upon returning to the township building or job site, assist in emptying bins and transferring waste into dumpsters. This requires the ability to lift/maneuver objects weighing up to 50--75 lbs.
- Compliance & Inspections: Perform required DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition (checking fluids, brakes, and hydraulics).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs of mileage, fuel, and disposal weights as required by municipal standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Licensure: Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL-B) with an air brake endorsement.
- Medical: Must have a current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Experience: Previous experience maneuvering heavy-duty trucks in tight residential areas is highly preferred.
- Safety Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and a commitment to strict safety protocols.
