Practical Nursing (LPN) Clinical Instructor

Location: Lehi, UT

Status: Part-time

Hours: PRN (Sunday 5:30 p.m. – 6 a.m., Monday & Tuesday 5:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., and labs throughout the week 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.) There are no summer shifts.

Travel is required to various clinical sites in Utah County. Hours are flexible and self-selected, with a maximum of 28 hours per week. There are no summer shifts.

    What You'll Do:

    Responsibilities of the Practical Nursing Clinical Instructor include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide hands-on technical instruction in a safe, supportive learning environment.

  • Supervise and mentor students at clinical sites, maintaining a strong presence throughout their shifts.

  • Foster the development of professional skills, knowledge, and behaviors by modeling excellence and addressing any concerns as they arise.

  • Deliver engaging clinical, lab, and simulation instruction aligned with the curriculum, incorporating theoretical and practical components.

  • Continuously enhance teaching effectiveness by researching and recommending new instructional resources and strategies.

  • Lead insightful discussions during post-clinical debriefings and pre-/post-simulation sessions to reinforce learning outcomes.

  • Communicate effectively with the PN Program Coordinator and/or Clinical Coordinator regarding any challenges, needs, or resources.

  • Schedule flexibility must be maintained to meet the needs of clinical sites and students.

    What We're Looking For:

  • An active Registered Nurse (RN) or APRN in Utah is required.

  • Education Requirements: Minimum of an ASN from an accredited institution, with current enrollment in a BSN program and completion within a year or less. BSN, MSN, or MSN in Nursing Education preferred.

  • Experience: At least two years of hands-on experience as a Registered Nurse. Nursing education and leadership experience are highly valued.

  • Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy is required.
