Position: Plant - EHS Internship

Location: 200 NW. Victoria Drive Lee's Summit, MO 64086

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Salary: $24.00 an hour

Perks: Paid Internship

Duration: Summer Internship - Mid/End may to Mid/End- August

This internship role is primarily responsible for providing EHS support to a plant-based organization with regards to all aspects of EHS including safety policy interpretation, safety management, investigations, EHS reporting, safety rewards and recognition. This position will also dedicate time to specific EHS special projects.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Provide coaching and advice to management on effective ways to administerEHSprograms.

  • Provide current and prospective employees with information aboutsafetypolicies.

  • Activelyparticipatesinsafety meetings and/or investigations.

  • Preparesafetyrecords related tosafetyevents,incidents, or audits.

  • Assistin implementing programs and policies to ensureEHS compliance.

  • AssistsEHSManagerin the management ofworker’scompensation process andotherEHS initiatives.

Skills and Experience :

  • General knowledge of state and federalOSHAlaws

  • Effective and deliberate communicationskills, both verbal and written

  • Proficiencyin MS Office applications(Word, Excel, PowerPoint,etc.)

  • Ability to effectively multi-task witha strong senseof urgency

  • Ability to work closely withEHSmanagement and leadership teams

  • Highly motivated, energetic, hands-on

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current enrollment at a graduate institution with a record of strongacademic performance(overall GPA of 3.0 or higher/junior status).
