“Are you ready to join a team of flood risk specialists and shape the future of the Water Industry?”
Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as an Associate Flood Risk Consultant in the Regulations and Development sector. As an Associate Consultant, you will technically lead and manage the production of flood risk consenting related documents for our major clients. You will join one of our rapidly growing UKoffices, whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.
We are a close-knit team of consultants, engineers, technicians, hydrologists, hydraulic modellers and project managers. We work hard to give our team development opportunities, whether that is a secondment to see the client’s perspective, an assignment to spend time on site to manage a construction contract, or arranging training to allow you to grow.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Under minimal direction, perform technical and administrative tasks of high complexity related to groundwater and hydrology investigations.
Take on assignments across the full scope of hydrology or other technical disciplines, following specific project terms and receiving guidance from senior professional staff.
Analyse collected data and prepare clear, accurate reports to support project decisions.
Monitor field and observational data to assess the impacts of upstream activities and ensure compliance with permitted conditions.
Become part of our dynamic Water business, which boasts around 600 experts across the UK & Ireland. Collaborate with top-tier engineers and consultants to deliver a variety of captivating projects, from small initiatives to large-scale ventures, all the way from concept to completion.

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Hydrology, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or related field
Proficient with flood modelling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MIKE FLOOD) and GIS tools
Strong data analysis skills (Python, R, or MATLAB desirable)
Understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and flood forecasting systems
Excellent communication, report-writing, and problem-solving abilities
You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven team environment.
