We’re searching for motivated individuals ready to launch a career through a paid Patternmaker Apprenticeship Program . In this role, you’ll gain the technical expertise needed to design and build foundry and casting tooling—skills that open doors across the manufacturing and machining industries.
About the Role
1st shift schedule : 4:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday–Friday (OT as needed)
Competitive pay: $27.04 – $32.65/hour
Location: Leeds, Alabama
As a Patternmaker Apprentice / CNC Machine Operator , you will participate in a three‑year structured training program combining hands-on experience, expert mentorship, and technical education. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a specialized trade while contributing to high‑quality manufacturing projects.
What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)
Train alongside experienced journeyman patternmakers through job shadowing and guided hands-on work
Work within a green sand‑casting operation to gain operational understanding
Learn to program, set up, and operate CNC machining equipment
Receive training in 3D scanning and 3D printing technology
Assist in designing and building foundry/casting tooling
Complete in‑house, online, and community college coursework as part of the apprenticeship
Support machining and production tasks with a strong focus on quality, safety, and accuracy
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have verifiable evidence of one of the following:
High School Diploma and an 80% minimum score on the skills assessment
Machine Tool Technology Certificate or current enrollment in such a program
Proven background in manual or CNC machining
Preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude
Commitment to learning and craftsmanship
Ability to interpret technical concepts and work with precision
Interest in manufacturing, machining, or tool & die work

Pay Details: $27.04 to $32.65 per hour
