Machine Operators are individuals who have a proven ability gained through experience and on-the-job training to operate the machinery and associated equipment to convert materials to the desired specifications. Machine operators must have a keen understanding of the machinery and materials to be converted and pay great attention to detail, identifying and reporting any and all inconsistencies they recognize related to the material, machinery, sub components and/or associated paper work. Planning and Coordination - Review all documentation required for the order to determine raw materials, quality specifications for finished work, sequence of operations, and setup requirements for machine and production line. - Set up minor equipment in accordance with product specification requirements. - Print, label and package finished product in accordance with the customer specification. Production and Finish - Operate one or more equipment lines in the building - Ability to accurately calculate and record post run information such as number of units produced, productivity and material waste. - Monitor the finished products obtained from the machine to verify and ensure the acceptable quality level of each part as outlined in the specification or work instruction. Identify production problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions, escalating appropriately as needed. Miscellaneous Duties - Maintain a well-organized work area and keeping the work area clean by sweeping, picking up debris, and removing anything which may cause a safety hazard. - Follow all safety policies and procedures. - Report safety issues and potential hazards to Supervisor. Experience: - Experience working within an ISO Quality System preferred. - Experience working with non-wovens/flexible roll goods preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Ability to speak, read and interpret information in English - Ability to complete paperwork and documentation (i.e. Work Instructions, Item Directory Forms, Safety and cGMP instructions and Work Orders) using good documentation practices. - General math skills including counting, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and conversion of units of measures, as well as, a good understanding of measurement types and common geometric terms such as radius, diameter and circumference. - Possess basic computer skills. - Ability to work cooperatively with others to complete work assignments. - Must be reliable and dependable - Strong attention to detail - Must be able to complete a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check, physical and drug screen. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent -OR- Any combination of academic education, professional training or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
