Job Title: Labor Foreman / Project Foreman

Job Description

This role oversees daily field operations on large commercial and environmental construction projects across multiple sites in Massachusetts. The Labor Foreman provides on-site leadership for craft personnel, ensures strict adherence to health and safety standards, and supports the successful delivery of site work and environmental remediation projects from the field perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day on-site leadership and direction for all craft and labor personnel on large commercial and environmental construction projects.

  • Coordinate and oversee site work activities, including environmental remediation and utility construction tasks, to ensure work progresses safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

  • Maintain and promote a strong health and safety culture on site at all times, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Read, interpret, and work from plans and construction drawings to guide field crews and verify that work meets project specifications.

  • Monitor work quality and productivity in the field, addressing issues promptly and providing guidance to team members as needed.

  • Support the planning and sequencing of work, including labor, equipment, and material needs, in coordination with project leadership.

  • Use construction and environmental management knowledge to identify potential field challenges and help implement practical solutions.

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and supervisors regarding progress, safety concerns, and any changes in site conditions.

  • Utilize GPS equipment on site when required to support layout, grading, or other field tasks, where experience allows.

  • Travel to various project sites within Massachusetts, and occasionally within New England as needed, using reliable personal transportation.

  • Perform physically demanding tasks in the field, including pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 50 lbs, working aloft and above shoulder height, and operating in tight quarters when required.

  • Work extended periods on your feet in a range of outdoor conditions, including snow, rain, cold, and heat, while maintaining focus on safety and quality.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of construction experience, with site work and/or environmental remediation experience strongly preferred.

  • 5–10 years of experience working in a leadership role in the construction field, providing direction to field and craft personnel.

  • Proven ability to demonstrate and maintain a strong commitment to health and safety at all times on active construction sites.

  • Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and construction drawings accurately.

  • Experience in construction, commercial construction, and utility construction environments.

  • Strong leadership mentality with the ability to motivate, guide, and hold field crews accountable.

  • OSHA 10-Hour certification.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation suitable for travel to multiple project locations.

  • Good physical condition and endurance, including the ability to push, pull, and lift more than 50 lbs regularly.

  • Ability to work aloft, climb ladders, staging/scaffolding, and other aerial equipment safely.

  • Ability to work long hours on your feet in varying weather conditions such as snow, rain, cold, and heat.

  • Comfort working above head height and in tight quarters when required by the project.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in environmental construction and environmental management.

  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferred.

  • Possession of a valid Massachusetts hoisting license with 1C/2A designation preferred.

  • Experience utilizing GPS equipment on construction sites is a plus.

  • Ability to travel within New England as project needs require.

  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork in a field-based environment.
