EHS Coordinator

Job Description

The EHS Coordinator supports safe, compliant, and efficient operations across a coatings and chemical manufacturing facility. This role focuses on chemical safety, regulatory reporting, environmental compliance, and day-to-day safety program execution. The coordinator works closely with production, maintenance, quality, and leadership to ensure a strong safety culture and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure chemical safety and regulatory compliance within the manufacturing facility.

  • Manage and execute day-to-day safety programs.

  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to foster a strong safety culture.

  • Manage annual EHS reporting, including Tier II, hazardous waste, emissions, and OSHA logs.

  • Maintain working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state environmental regulations.

  • Utilize EHS management systems and documentation tools effectively.

Qualifcations

  • Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Chemistry, Industrial Technology, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, coatings production, or a similar high-hazard industry.

  • Demonstrated experience with chemical safety, hazardous materials handling, and regulatory compliance.

  • Proficiency with EHS management systems, spreadsheets, and documentation tools.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments.

  • Experience in coatings, paints, resins, adhesives, or solvent-based manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of PSM, combustible dust, flammable liquid storage, and industrial ventilation.

  • Safety certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, or CESM are a plus.

Work Environment

The role is based in a chemical manufacturing plant. The work environment includes dealing with high-hazard chemicals and requires adherence to stringent safety protocols.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lebanon, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $57.69/hr.
