Dartmouth Health Data and Quality Analyst in Lebanon, New Hampshire

Overview

Fulltime position. Part time remote work. There is a weekly requirement to work onsite in the office.

Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Collect, analyze and report patient-related transplant, quality measures and outcomes data for the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program and Hematology group and to the Center for International Blood and Marrow Research and the National Marrow Donor Program (CIBMTR/NMDP) National Registry.

Responsibilities

  • Manages computerized data regarding bone marrow transplant patients’ complications and overall survival both internally and externally.

  • Oversees quality initiatives within the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program and Hematology team including development of databases to assess quality measures and benchmarks required for national accreditation.

  • Database development for(not all inclusive): Re-admission rates for transplant patients, Incidence of inpatient infections, Quality of care using the Inpatient/Outpatient (IPOP) Initiative and Quality outcomes for new hematology patients. Tabulates and formats data for reports and grant applications and prepares statistical reports on demand.

  • Prepares detailed reports of accrual and patient safety information for NCCC Safety and Data Monitoring Committee.

  • Serves in a pivotal role to ensure the Cancer Center’s compliance with the extensive federal regulations regarding the recently mandated Allogeneic transplant information.

  • Works with secretarial, pharmaceutical, nursing, physician, and allied health staff to ensure compliance with all registry requirements regarding patient treatment and follow-up.

  • Designs strategies for process evaluation and process improvement to include: Data collection, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.

  • Provides support for NCCC quality improvement projects.

  • Ensures the cyclical data management and data analysis are carried out in a timely manner.

  • Consults with BMT team physicians, nurses, nurse coordinators, and staff regarding BMT patient-related transplant data.

  • Complies with federal and local regulatory agencies, industrial study sponsors, and administrative staff regarding accreditation guidelines and insurance agency requirements for continual support and accreditation.

  • Regularly participates in weekly BMT Team meetings to continuously consult with team members to ensure accurate data collection.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience in data management research environment.

  • Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment modalities in oncology and hematology.

  • Knowledge of federal regulations related to data collection requirements.

  • Facility with computerized data management and the organization of quantitative data.

  • Judgment, initiative, discretion.

  • Very strong organizational ability.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to balance competing demands and make decisions under deadline pressures.
