Organization and Position Overview
Lilly recently announced a $4.5 billion investment to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. The first-ever facility of its kind, combining research and manufacturing in a single location, the Medicine Foundry will allow Lilly to further develop innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and increase capacity for clinical trial medicines, while also reducing costs and environmental impact.
As a Reliability Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring equipment availability and optimal performance across the site, supporting the delivery of novel medicines for clinical trials. Reporting to the Senior Reliability Manager, you will execute predictive maintenance programs, analyze equipment health data, and drive continuous improvement in maintenance strategies, all in compliance with cGMP and applicable regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
In line with the job outlined above, the following are typically the key tasks that would be expected of the role:
Execute predictive maintenance (PdM) routes, including but not limited to, vibration analysis, ultrasound, thermal imaging, and oil sampling
Execute precision lubrication activities across manufacturing and utility assets, including lubricant application, re-greasing, and oil top-offs in compliance with OEM specifications and site lubrication standards to extend asset life and reduce unplanned downtime
Apply precision maintenance techniques, including laser shaft alignment, belt and sheave alignment, torque and tolerance verification in accordance with OEM specifications and site procedures, documenting all findings and completed work in GMARS
Analyze equipment condition data to identify anomalies, degradation trends, and failure precursors; escalate findings with recommended corrective actions
Support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for critical and recurring equipment failures; track corrective actions to closure in GMARS
Review and optimize preventive maintenance job plans, frequencies, and task content based on performance data and reliability analysis
Maintain accurate records of all PdM activities, findings, and work orders in GMARS, including asset data, failure codes, and labor hours
Communicate equipment health status to maintenance, engineering, and operations teams; coordinate reliability-driven work across functions
Produce clear reports summarizing PdM program performance and overall equipment health
Provide field troubleshooting support as needed, including outside normal business hours
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and have 2 years experience in the trade or equivalent, or Technical Vocational College associate degree
Hands‑on experience with condition monitoring technologies (Vibration, thermography and ultrasound)
Experience with precision maintenance practices
Working knowledge of rotating equipment, utilities, and manufacturing assets
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to learn and navigate site-specific software systems, including CMMS platforms and data analysis tools
Possess knowledge of CMMS functionalities, workflows, and utilization
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and communicate technical findings clearly

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$33.89 - $49.71
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
