Erie Shores Healthcare Clinical Resource Nurse in Leamington, Ontario

Clinical Resource Nurse

Applications are now being accepted for a Temporary Full Time Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) to work in the Emergency Department. The successful applicant will have a commitment of 75 hours per pay period to this position and will be required to work Monday-Sunday 1900-0700, including holidays. Please note, this is a temporary position scheduled to end on or before June 1, 2026.

Education

• Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses

• Current ACLS, BCLS & PALS certification

• Canadian Triage Course (CTAS) Completion

Role and Responsibilities

The CRN will support the Clinical Manage/Director to coordinate patient care delivery. Their primary role is to:

• Adhere to policies and procedures established for the assigned department while supporting the Mission, Vision and Values of Erie Shores Healthcare

• Maintain the confidentiality of all patient information

• Promote a safe and efficient patient journey from triage to disposition by respectfully monitoring patient care

• The CRN will have the ability to direct and delegate to the Emergency Department (ED) nursing team to promote and improve flow, meeting our provincial targets

• Be a clinical resource to all staff, patients, visitors, and physicians, communicating and problem solving efficiently and effectively

• Be a systems’ thinker ensuring that all processes are being followed by all staff

• Identify and communicate quality improvement ideas

• Collaborate with the leadership team in quality improvement projects

• Huddle with the staff during challenging moments to identify changes in department resources to calm/reset the climate of the department

• Communicate effectively with the physician re: physician and patient issues relating to the flow and needs of the department

• Complete staff assignments

• Collaborative team approach with Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

• Role-model professional values, beliefs and attributes. Act as a role model and mentor to less experienced nurses and students

• Perform any other relevant duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5 years’ experience as a charge nurse preferred

• 5-10 years critical care experience required

• Previous leadership experience preferred

• Knowledge and passion for the Paid for Results (P4R) funding methodologies an asset

• Strong leadership characteristics and abilities

• Demonstrated time management, organizational and prioritization skills

• Desire to go above and beyond to achieve the necessary goals and/or to support all staff

• Calm demeanor and able to maintain a level head, professionalism and composure under pressure

• Detailed oriented

• Flexible with an ability to handle pressure and be resilient

• Strong and respectful conflict resolution skills
