Wells Enterprises Director Security in Le Mars, Iowa
The Director of Security holds a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Company's global security strategies, working in close alignment with top management to ensure robust and comprehensive protection across all operations. The individual will be located in Le Mars, IA or in Chicago, IL, and oversees a broad range of security aspects including Country Security Intelligence, Physical Security, Logistical Security, Executive Protection, Travel Security, Incident Management, Fraud Investigation, Due Diligence, Security Training, and Threat and Risk Assessments. This role encompasses security measures for the production facilities and Wells premises, as well as all global business operations. This position enables the professional to collaborate with the Regional Offices worldwide, actively engaging in and enhancing integrated business and security processes.
Main Attributions and responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing security plans, security programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Information Protection, Incident Management and/or Investigation, according to group guidelines.
Maintains knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues and security technology and update management on risk and threat that could affect company business.
Responsible to perform annual risk analysis for the countries where the company works or is present, particularly with respect to level of crime, terrorism, workplace violence, threats from natural and man-made disasters.
Responsible for providing leadership, advice and counsel to line management on security policy and practices. Identifies exposures and to recommend and develop corrective plans as appropriate.
Provides advice and counsel on cost-effective expenditures of resources for protection of company assets where compromise or loss of these assets could seriously effect company business or reputation.
Provides leadership, advice, and counsel to all security staff in achieving current and long-range strategic group program objectives.
Leads due diligence and conducts thorough investigations into significant threats, as well as the loss or misappropriation of assets.
Develops and supervises a comprehensive incident management process to ensure thorough analysis and investigation of all incidents, providing strategic advice and effective resolutions to all relevant functional and security management.
Coordinates and supervises the security services within the productive sites, drafting and implementing security procedures compliant with Company policies.
Establish transparent and continuous communication with local management, and the other regional security managers.
Maintain risk and performance metrics, KPI and KRI according to group guidelines.
Enforce and continuously improve Wells Security Management System at a global level ensuring, through a risk mitigation and cost-conscious approach, the effective protection of Wells People, Physical Assets, Goods, Strategic Processes and Strategic Know-How.
Establish and maintain excellent network and communication channels with external peers, including neighbor companies’ security staff, law enforcement, federal, state, and local law enforcement and key national and international security organizations.
Supervise Security Threat and Risk Assessments, in line with Wells standards and metrics, identifying the related level of exposure and potential implications for the company. Generating detailed and objective periodical Security Reports in order to assist critical business decision making.
Supervise a transport/logistic risk program, including compliance aspects, in coordination with Supply Chain Department to ensure the protection of Raw Material and Finished Goods both in local distribution and export/import flows.
Maintain Wells Travel Security Management Program at a country level ensuring Wells traveler population is treated in line with security best practices including, travel security advisor, preventive risk mitigation measures, and in-trip assistance.
Lead appropriate security initiatives to meet all Wells compliance requirements imposed by the law as well as all provisions of the Company’s Ethical Code. Ensure Company compliance to all security related national and international regulatory requirements as well as internal normative and operational guidelines.
Lead internal investigation process according to group policy. This includes plan, organize and conduct investigations of alleged violations of the law, breaches of the corporate ethics policy, theft, fraud, conflict of interest, bribery, embezzlement, and unauthorized disclosure and/or theft of company proprietary information in coordination with the group security department.
Design, establish and maintain effective Physical Security strategies for Wells production plant, offices, and warehouses. This includes, but is not limited to, risks and threat assessment, internal tensions monitoring and reporting process, tailored physical security technologies, policies and procedures, qualified and well-trained security guard’s service.
Design, establish and maintain an effective Executive Protection Program.
Manage enhanced security awareness and training programs to Wells employees.
