North Davis Preparatory Academy 1st Grade Teacher in LAYTON, Utah
A K-9 charter school located in Layton, Utah, is now accepting applications for a full-time 1st Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
The School is Utah's first International Spanish Academy. Every student studies Spanish and experiences learning with international teachers. The School has more teachers from Spain than any other school in the United States and Canada. The vision of the School is to develop a love of learning, experience high academic achievement, and enjoy high bi-literate proficiency.
This position will provide engaging instruction to students in a Spanish dual language immersion setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons that integrate Spanish language instruction.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for students.
- Incorporate Spanish vocabulary and cultural connections into daily instruction to support language immersion.
- Teach fundamental motor skills, fitness concepts, and lifelong physical activity habits.
- Monitor and support students' physical, social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, DLI staff, and school administration to align instruction with program goals.
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and assessments.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians in both English and Spanish as appropriate.
- Model and promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
Maintain equipment, facilities, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Qualified applicants will have a valid Utah Elementary education teaching license. Candidates who hold certifications or endorsements to teach multiple subjects are strongly encouraged to apply. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Preference may be given to Spanish bilingual candidates.
