Senior IT Project Manager | Contract | Onsite LOCAL ATLANTA CANDIDATES ONLY.
Our client is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver complex, enterprise-level technology initiatives within a structured PMO environment. This role requires a strong blend of technical project delivery, stakeholder leadership, and vendor management across multiple workstreams.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is comfortable driving alignment across cross-functional teams while maintaining strict timelines and high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects and programs
Develop and maintain core project artifacts including:
Project plans and schedules
Status reports and executive briefings
Risk and issue logs
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to align priorities and ensure successful outcomes
Manage third-party vendors, ensuring accountability, performance, and timely delivery
Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and decision-making across teams
Coordinate across internal IT teams and external partners for seamless execution
Deliver projects using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies , adapting as needed
Provide clear, concise communication to executive leadership and project stakeholders
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of PMBOK and Agile frameworks , with the ability to apply both effectively
Proven ability to manage complex technical projects , including web-based applications and enterprise systems
Experience working within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Demonstrated success managing vendors and third-party partners
Excellent communication skills with strong executive presence
Ability to influence stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and drive alignment
Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
Proficiency with MS Project, JIRA, and/or similar project management tools
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field
8+ years of progressive IT project management experience
Experience leading highly technical teams and delivering complex systems
Prior experience working within a PMO environment preferred
Certifications
- PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent certification preferred
