Job Description
Responsibilities-
Raw Material Cost Analysis:
Analyze cost impacts of price changes for specialty resins, additives, etc.
Collaborate with Commercial and Procurement teams to support customer pricing of these materials.
Collect and analyze data related to raw material purchases, inventory, and customer usage.
Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods
Evaluate effects on overall costs and profitability.
Standard Cost Setting :
Establish standard costs for raw material inputs.
Develop, monitor and analyze cost standards based on industry benchmarks and internal processes
Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
Ensure accurate reconciliation of cost-related accounts and products
Prepare Journal entries
Assist with month end closing and account reconciliations
Calculate accruals and allocations
Maintain control of assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts
Assist with general ledger review of certain balance sheet and income statement accounts
Assist with product line monthly reporting
Assist with annual budgeting process
Create and analyze reports
Research account variances and prepare explanations
Investigate and help resolve accounting and reporting issues
Asset Management
Ensure compliance with Amcor accounting policies and U.S. GAAP
Demonstrate and support Amcor core values
Maintain strong internal controls environment
Special projects as assigned supporting controller and management teams
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Strong Microsoft office skills (especially MS Excel) required
Accounting or financial reporting and analysis experience preferred
Knowledge of income statement and balance sheet reporting
Ability to work both independently and with others
Ability to multi-task, meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
ERP knowledge preferred
Cost accounting experience preferred
