Job Description:
50% BLSP Program Management and Administrative Support – Work in close collaboration with the Faculty Director of the BLSP and the Associate Dean for Student Success to design, manage, and support BLSP recruiting, admissions, and programming. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Develop BLSP criteria for admissions, continuance, and graduation in coordination with the faculty director. Oversee and manage the processes once established.
Develop recruiting strategy for the program in coordination with the faculty director and school recruiting team with ongoing participation in recruiting activities.
Develop orientation and support strategies for BLSP students and manage delivery of these services.
Design and develop BLSP curricular and co-curricular program experiences in coordination with faculty director. Deliver courses and activities as needed.
Create specialized scholar programs for BLSP students in coordination with faculty from across the school. Inform BLSP students of these opportunities and create pathways to the specialized programs.
Serve as a primary point of communication for BLSP students, families, and campus partners.
Complete other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Programs and BLSP Faculty Director.
20% BPDP Management and Support - Serve as primary coordinator for the Business Professional Development Program (BPDP). Duties include but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain curriculum for BUS 110, manage instructor assignments and scheduling.
Provide training and coordination for instructors, coordinate with other BPDP courses
Oversee collection, tracking, and analysis of BPDP activity and program data to measure student outcomes to inform decision-making. Uses assessment data to recommend and implement program improvements.
Manages operational resources and contributes to budget planning for BPDP activities.
Maintain strong partnerships with Student Success, Advising, Career Services, and Undergraduate Programs
20% Instruction - Teach BUS 110 sections:
Provide instruction for up to six (6), 1 credit-hour courses, per academic year. Courses may be assigned for fall, spring and/or summer semesters.
Course load will primarily be sections of BUS 110 (Intro to Professionalism) but may include other 1 credit hour BUS courses.
Instructional responsibilities will involve preparation of lectures and formal instruction, coordination of speakers, student meetings, grade management, assessment of learning outcomes and associated responsibilities as course instructor.
Instructors should abide by all Business School and University policies and procedures.
10% Miscellaneous Duties and School Service :
Engage as a member of the Student Success team. Collaborate and provide additional support to colleagues to collectively improve student outcomes and achieve unit’s strategic goals.
Supervises program support staff, BUS 110 instructors and student employees.
Engage as an active member of the School of Business staff by participating in assembly meetings and collaborative initiatives.
Contribute to special projects and serve on committees within the School of Business, as assigned.
Complete other duties as assigned to support the mission of the School and University.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree plus three (3) years relevant experience, OR Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years progressively more responsible experience.
Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of KU School of Business programs.
Demonstrated record of successfully working with students, special populations, counseling and/or building networks/relations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as evidenced by application materials.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and deliver program objectives as reflected in application materials.
Excellent communication skills as evidenced by application materials.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in business, education, counseling, student affairs, or a related field.
Experience designing, teaching, or facilitating workshops in a higher education environment.

Ability to collect, analyze, and report data to assess program effectiveness, as evidenced by application materials.
Experience advising or mentoring high achieving or scholar level undergraduate students.
Position Overview:
The Associate Director for Business Leaders & Scholars Programs is responsible for leading signature undergraduate programs within the KU School of Business that enhance student engagement, retention, and academic/professional development. This role serves as the staff administrator for the Business Leaders & Scholars Program (BLSP) and the Business Professionalism Development Program (BPDP) working closely with the Faculty Director of the BLSP to provide strategic and operational leadership for the program.
The Associate Program Director oversees admissions pipelines, student progression structures, first year programming, scholar pathways, and high impact engagement activities that support both BLSP students and broader School of Business undergraduate populations. In addition to program administration, this position oversees, coordinates and teaches sections of BUS 110.
This is a full time, 12-month staff position. The School may also consider a 10-month appointment, depending on candidate qualifications and preference, provided the selected candidate remains fully engaged throughout the academic year. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Student Success. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for recruitment, events, or program activities. Work is conducted primarily on campus, with flexibility considered per KU and School guidelines.
