Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker supports day-to-day operations in a warehouse and production environment with a focus on packaging, rebranding, and parts handling. This is a long-term temporary role that requires a quick learner with strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the flexibility to move between different tasks as business needs change.

Responsibilities

  • Insert parts into finished goods packages for a high volume of tanks stored on-site, ensuring accuracy and completeness of each package.

  • Support the rebranding process by opening tanks, removing existing labels, and applying new labels according to updated branding guidelines.

  • Assist with electrical tank conversion by opening tanks and switching out electrical elements following established procedures and safety practices.

  • Help in the parts department as needed, including building parts kits according to order specifications and organizing components.

  • Perform cycle counts in the parts department to help maintain accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies.

  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, including moving, staging, and organizing parts and finished goods within the warehouse.

  • Use basic hand and power tools to assist with assembly, parts inspection, and related production tasks.

  • Inspect parts and materials for visible defects or inconsistencies and report any issues to the appropriate team members.

  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities, pivoting from one task or department to another based on operational demands.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all workplace safety and housekeeping standards.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly and follow instructions accurately in a production and warehouse setting.

  • Strong attention to detail when inserting parts, switching labels, and handling electrical elements and components.

  • Mechanical inclination with comfort using basic hand and power tools for light assembly and inspection tasks.

  • Willingness and physical ability to perform various manual tasks, including standing, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift.

  • Flexibility to pivot between different roles such as packaging, rebranding, electrical conversion support, and parts department work.

  • Basic understanding of general labor and material handling practices in a warehouse environment.

  • Comfort working around forklifts and material handling equipment, even without a forklift certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical or prior experience in a technical, mechanical, or warehouse environment.

  • Experience with inventory processes such as cycle counting and parts tracking.

  • Familiarity with assembly work, including building parts kits or similar tasks.

  • Experience with parts inspection to identify damage, defects, or inconsistencies.

  • General labor, material handling, or warehouse operations.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment with a small team that handles both parts and large equipment. The shift runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with optional overtime available depending on workload and business needs. The front half of the warehouse focuses on picking and packing parts orders, while the back half stores larger boilers and other large parts. There are dedicated forklift operators for shipping and receiving, and you will work around material handling equipment and a variety of parts and tanks. The work is hands-on and physical, involving standing, moving, and handling materials throughout the day in an industrial setting where practical, safety-appropriate attire is expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawnside, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
