NC Department of Adult Corrections Temporary Nurse Aide - CNA I in Laurinburg, North Carolina

Description of Work

Are you a compassionate and dedicated caregiver ready to make a meaningful impact? Join the NC Department of Adult Correction as a CNA I, where you'll work alongside healthcare professionals to provide essential care and support to patients in a secure, structured environment.

What You'll Do:

Support RNs, LPNs, and Health Care Technicians with patient care tasks, including:

Obtaining vital signs, weight, and height.

Preparing patients for examinations.

Assist patients with daily activities such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, and repositioning.

Safely transport patients as needed.

Observe and report patient conditions to nursing staff.

Collect and label specimens (blood, urine, feces, and sputum) within your scope of practice.

Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including changing linens and making beds.

Engage with patients in therapeutic and recreational activities, particularly in mental health settings

Pay rate is $20/hour with no benefits included

Temporary Role: 11 months with a 31-day break; renewal opportunities available.

Eligibility: Applicants must pass a background check to qualify.
