Responsibilities of the Clinical Therapist:

  • Clinical assessment, treatment, case management, consultant, referral and education according to individual's professional discipline. Services shall be provided in accordance with the established NC Mental Health and Substance Abuse Standards as well within the scope of practice of the individual.
  • Conduct psychosocial evaluations and provide therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling to individuals, groups and families as needed to facilitate.
  • Evaluate the individual and family systems as well as assess client's functioning within work, family and routines of daily living and identifies areas needing continued support, resources and treatment in order to assist clients.
  • Develop, implement and maintain partnerships with other community providers.
  • Maintain case records to reflect course of treatment and provide required documentation.
  • Provide follow-up and aftercare planning services as needed. Expeditiously discharge inactive clients.
  • Provide emergency services during work hours and after hours as assigned.
  • Serves as liaison between organizational personnel and Board of Directors.
  • Develops and maintains key community relations with local and state stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Director for risk management.
  • Establish positive and cooperative relationships with local health care entities and vendors.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and other activities, which ensures the smooth functioning of clinical operations.
  • Responsible for provision on a rotating basis of 24/7/365 First Responder Services for support.
  • Other duties as needed

Education Required:

  • Master's degree in human services preferred; other advanced degrees may be considered

Experience Required:

  • Direct service or experience in the behavioral health/mental health/substance abuse field.
  • Minimum of four years upper-level management experience in a multi-faceted human service organization.
  • Budget management experience for organization, both fiscal and programmatic.
  • Current licensure as a mental health professional Required: LCSW, LCSWA, or LMHP, LMHP-A.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to think strategically and use sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Awareness and daily practice of Best Practices, HIPAA, OSHA, federal, and state rules and regulations regarding confidentiality and clients' rights.
  • Ability to motivate, delegate, and provide direction to staff.
  • Ability to articulate mission and vision of agency to staff and community in the interest if new business.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities.
  • Behave in a manner promoting honesty, respect, and courtesy within the organization and in the community.
