Alta Equipment Group Outside Sales Representative in LATHAM, New York

This range is regarding base salary + commission and does not include benefits. Overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographical location, skillset, education, and experience. Alta Equipment Company is currently seeking a heavy equipment outside sales representative who will be working in the Albany and greater Albany area area, and reporting to our Latham, NY location. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:Responsibilities:Responsible for the Construction Sales for our JCB and Volvo product lines.Account/territory management, financial merchandising, and prospect for new businessMeet quota objectives provided by managementAbility to use effective time and territory management skillsPersonal visits to customer's applications to identify opportunitiesEffective use of direct mail, phone, and electronic media to communicate with prospects and customersMust be able to develop and present proposals to solve customers' needs while working with our inside sales teamEffectively present at the customers' location in front of a group and show the benefits of your products and servicesActively participate in the use and expansion of the companies CRM programExecute planned sales callsParticipate in sales training and use tools provided to educate on your own various products and services offered by the companyReview open proposals with sales management and request management participation in customer sales calls when necessaryTurn in complete orders to sales administration and review orders for accuracyAbility to demonstrate products at the customer's locationCoordinate with all departments sales strategies that exceed customers' expectationsOffer customized financing packages to meet each customer's unique requirementsIncorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activitiesPerforms other duties as assignedConsistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start timeQualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceMust possess outstanding selling and closing skills2 years of heavy construction equipment sales experience is highly preferred5 years of business-to-business sales experiencePossess excellent verbal and written communication skillsFast paced, high energy individual with an aggressive sales styleMust have valid driver's license, clean driving record and automobile insuranceComputer programs - Microsoft Word, Excel, OutlookLanguage Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
