Summary

It is the responsibility of the Safety Field Ops Coordinator to coordinate the fleet with their maintenance and our DOT log books. Professionaly interacts with customers, team members, and third-party vendor/partner relationships to provide the highest level of customer service.

Support a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures, taking personal responsibility for safety, reporting hazards or concerns promptly, and contributing to a culture that prioritizes safety every day.

This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in-person schedule workinge in-office and/or show-site based out of Las Vegas, NV.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assures the following occur and files are maintained and current at the branch:

  • Sign-in Sheets/Safe Work Talks, Show Site Surveys, Branch Surveys, New Team member Orientation (OSHA required) training and record keeping, Safety Committee Minutes, Driver Files (DOT and non-DOT), MVR Reviews, including enforcement of disciplinary policy and driver training classes, Vehicle Maintenance Records, AED training, inspection, and maintenance records, OSHA 300 Logs, Update records for Certificate of Insurance Program, Forklift training and certification records, Conduct periodic fire & emergency evacuation drills

  • Hazardous chemical inventory, evaluation of products, training, required PPE, and records, as well as hazardous chemical disposal reports and state Superfund reports

  • PPE distribution, maintenance, and destruction records. This includes Fall Protection PPE.

  • Respirator inventory, training, and records. Includes distribution, maintenance, and destruction records.

  • Blood Borne Pathogen kit inventory and training records. Report all incidents to Corporate Risk Manager.

  • Cutting & Welding permits, training, and required PPE

  • Lockout/Tagout inventory, training, and incident records.

  • Branch training for all the above, plus all other required safety programs and training, including training records.

  • A show site survey shall be conducted at all shows.

  • The Safety Coordinator shall conduct surveys at Decorating shows of 250 booths or more.

  • Assign a local supervisor, on a rotating basis, to conduct surveys at all other Decorating shows with AVW team members on site.

  • In either case, the Safety Coordinator shall follow up on all recommendations to assure implementation by the appropriate supervisor.

  • Provide branch management and account executive with post-con recap of losses and safe work performance.

  • Assure supervisory/lead personnel are delivering effective safe work talks and proper documentation is being completed.

  • Assure the proper type and number of safe work signs, which have been approved by Corporate Risk Management, geared towards workers and safety reminder signs geared towards exhibitors are displayed in the appropriate places at all shows.

  • Monitor the status of all recommendations resulting from show site and branch surveys.

  • Assure all accidents/incidents are promptly investigated and reports filed within 48 hours.

  • Review Supervisory Investigation Reports for completeness and counsel supervisors as appropriate to improve quality of SIR's.

  • Assist claims adjusters in gathering information, as necessary.

  • Review and analyze Loss Runs.

  • Keep branch management apprised of the progress of claims and their progress towards achieving loss reduction goals.

  • Establish and assist branch safety committees, as necessary.

  • Assure at least one individual is trained in the proper procedures for drug/alcohol testing.

  • Assure one individual is designated to maintain driver files (DOT and non-DOT).

  • Distribute all safety-related information (i.e., Risk Talk and Risk Management Bulletins).

  • Interact with claims adjusters to the extent necessary to be conversant with the status of individual claims.

  • Attend training and Risk Management meetings, as required.

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Complete required safety training and apply safe work practices at all times.

  • Immediately report any workplace accidents, near misses, hazards, or unsafe conditions to a manager or through an appropriate reporting channel.

  • Use tools, equipment, and protective gear properly to prevent injuries and incidents.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1+ years related experience and/or training in the audio visual industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements.

  • Ability to consistently follow safety rules and contribute to a positive safety culture.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

OSHA 10 Certification required.
