Xylem Field Service Technician (Diesel Technician) in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Field Service Technician (Diesel Technician) is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner at a Xylem Service Center, customer job sites, or via phone support.

Core Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental
Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, and pump-related issues
Rebuild diesel engines and pump components
Assist customers and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems at job sites, including startup and troubleshooting
Conduct initial inspections of equipment for damage; diagnose and report findings to the Service Manager
Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and quality standards
Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles and shop support equipment
Perform diagnostic checks using computer-based tools and technology
Participate in a weekly on-call rotation to support customers after hours
Perform other related duties as assigned
Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
3–5 years of diesel technician/mechanic experience and/or relevant training (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Strong mechanical aptitude with diesel engine experience
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card
CDL Class B – Preferred
Ability to obtain required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.), if applicable
Technical Skills:
Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues (advanced diagnostics preferred)
Knowledge of equipment repair methods, tools, and techniques
Basic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring systems
Experience with DC electrical systems and circuit testing
Familiarity with diesel engine components and systems
Understanding of safety practices and procedures
Additional Competencies:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Strong communication skills with customers, coworkers, and leadership
Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $26/hr. - $34/hr. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
