Insight Global Financial Controller in Las Cruces, New Mexico
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Controller for a public-sector client supporting county-level financial operations. This individual will oversee the full accounting function, manage and mentor accounting staff, and ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance. The Controller will play a key role in preparing the ACFR, coordinating audits, strengthening internal controls, and partnering with department leaders on financial planning and decision-making. This is a highly visible role ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with strong governmental accounting experience who can step in quickly and drive accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university
7+ years of professional accounting experience
3+ years in a supervisory or people-management capacity
Strong knowledge of GAAP and governmental accounting standards (GASB)
Experience overseeing general ledger and financial reporting
Experience preparing or overseeing ACFRs Experience with internal controls, audits, and compliance
Workday Experience CPA license
Expertise in grants and assets
Experience with Single Audit Reports and SEFA
Prior experience coordinating internal and external audits
Experience implementing new GASB standards
