Saint-Gobain Automation Engineer in LARGO, Florida
-The Automation Engineer will lead the design, programming, and commissioning of PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems to automate manufacturing processes, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and that they meet safety and quality standards. Analyze and optimize automated processes to reduce downtime and enhance product quality. Implement improvements based on data analysis and troubleshooting results. Manage multiple automation projects from conception through implementation, including budgeting, timeline, vendor coordination, and compliance with project specifications.

Develop and Commission Automation Systems: Design and implement plant automation systems, including PLCs, HMI/SCADA, MES data collection, and IIoT networks, while executing retrofit projects with AC/servo drives and control system upgrades.
Project Management: Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor all assigned projects, ensuring compliance with quality control standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with plant Production and Engineering Managers to coordinate changes in production processes and resolve equipment malfunctions.
Support Process Optimization: Assist process engineers in problem analysis, solution development, and implementation of corrective actions to enhance efficiency.
Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Support a team of technicians in troubleshooting activities, analyzing operating problems, and implementing corrective actions.
Maintain Compliance: Ensure electrical equipment meets regulatory codes at state and federal levels, and report all EH&S incidents
Emergency Support: Be available for after-hours support during emergency downtime situations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Exhibit safety awareness and model safe work practices in all aspects of the job.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Automation-
Demonstrated track record of design using PLC, SCADA, and CAD software packages
Proven experience in project management
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience with robotic controls and programming
Working knowledge of quality systems required with a familiarity of medical regulations preferred
This role is highly technical in nature.- Requires in-depth understanding of the machine upgrade and automation system functionality and an ability to identify and solve process problems.- Matrix working relationships across the plant and beyond.
