Manulife Learning and Development Consultant in Lapu Lapu City, Philippines
This role reports to the Manager of Learning and Development and is primarily responsible for conducting training and development needs analysis, designing and developing digital learning content, and implementing training initiatives that address assessed needs. The role plays a critical part in building future‑ready capabilities within the organization through enterprise‑wide e‑learning development and modern instructional design methodologies.
The Learning and Development Consultant takes the lead in digital content creation, e‑learning development, and the application of adult learning principles.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the end‑to‑end project management of learning programs within the team
Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) using adult learning methodologies and instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM)
Design and develop e‑learning modules (e.g., Compass), including digital content creation, module updates, and conversion of existing content into digital formats
Design and develop digital learning content , simulations, quizzes, and interactive assets using Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise) or equivalent tools
Conceptualize, prepare, and implement learning program development activities
Build and maintain strong working relationships with trainers, SMEs, learning champions, and stakeholders across the enterprise
Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs , identify improvement opportunities, and recommend actionable solutions
Perform vendor management related to program development needs
Facilitate selected Learning & Development courses , as needed
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience may be factored into the hiring manager’s evaluation during the selection process
Strong instructional design background with hands‑on experience in e‑learning creation
Proven experience using Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise) or equivalent tools with comparable capabilities (e‑learning modules, simulations, quizzes, digital content)
Demonstrated ability to design digital learning content from scratch (e.g., scenario‑based, interactive, or enterprise‑wide modules)
Experience developing training materials for developmental and capability‑building programs (e.g., leadership, niche skills, enterprise programs)
Strong understanding of adult learning principles , ADDIE, and SAM methodologies
Ability to manage and execute learning and development programs end‑to‑end
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Solid proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Excel (intermediate to advanced formulas and pivot tables) , PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Project
Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous environment and adapt to shifting priorities and timelines
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in process improvement and/or project management
1–2 years of experience managing and executing learning‑related programs
Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills
Agile project management experience
Ability to proactively respond to evolving learning needs and program requirements
