The Impact You'll Make

Call for Expressions of Interest – Postdoctoral Research Collaboration in Industrial Drives and Power Conversion Systems

You’ll play a key role in shaping the next generation of multi‑megawatt power conversion technologies that support the global shift toward sustainable energy. Your research will contribute to cleaner, more efficient, and more resilient energy infrastructures worldwide.

By collaborating with Danfoss, you’ll bridge academic excellence with real‑world industrial challenges from advanced power electronics and renewable integration to thermal management, storage systems, and intelligent monitoring. Your ideas will have the opportunity to move from concept to validation and into industrial application.

This collaboration gives you a rare chance to see your research make measurable scientific and societal impact far beyond the lab.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Co-develop research concepts with Danfoss experts to build competitive proposals for European or national postdoctoral funding.

  • Conduct advanced research in power conversion or related fields to generate insights that support industrial innovation.

  • Translate academic findings into prototypes, models, or methodologies that accelerate technology readiness.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineers and scientists to ensure your research aligns with industrial needs and application pathways.

  • Contribute to proposal writing, project planning, and preparation for upcoming external funding calls.

What We're Looking For

  • A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Materials Science, or a closely related field.

  • Demonstrated research excellence in areas relevant to power conversion, power electronics, or advanced energy systems.

  • Ability to connect academic research with practical, real‑world applications.

  • A collaborative approach and openness to interdisciplinary work.

  • Motivation to pursue externally funded postdoctoral research together with Danfoss.

What You'll Get from Us

You’ll join a collaborative innovation ecosystem where industry and academia work side by side to push technology forward. At Danfoss, you’ll have access to world‑class research facilities, state‑of‑the‑art laboratories, and advanced prototyping environments that enable you to test and validate your boldest ideas.

We offer an environment that values scientific freedom, creativity, and personal development — giving you opportunities to strengthen your research leadership, project planning, and innovation capabilities. Your work will directly support technologies that enable global sustainability and the future of electrification.

Please note: This is not a salaried position within Danfoss. Collaboration depends on securing external research funding together.

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you’re excited about taking your research beyond academia and contributing to technologies that power a sustainable future, we encourage you to express your interest — even if you don’t meet every requirement.

Please submit:

  • Your CV (including publication list)

  • A statement of your research interests and vision for advancing power conversion and energy systems

  • Contact details for academic and/or industry references

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Selected candidates will be contacted to explore joint proposal opportunities.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected category.
