Humana Senior Project Manager in Lansing, Michigan

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing key processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency in project execution, and providing critical support across the enterprise and market. This role collaborates closely with the Strategy Advancement Advisor to drive strategic initiatives and operational excellence within the Michigan HIDE (Highly Integrated Dual Eligible) plan.

  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on process improvement, operational efficiency, and implementation of enterprise-wide initiatives.

  • Develop, document, and maintain detailed project plans, process maps, and supporting materials.

  • Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and timelines, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and goals.

  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with stakeholders across the enterprise and market to gather requirements, provide updates, and support project objectives.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and collaborate with teams to implement best practices.

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Strategy Advancement Advisor and other leaders, enabling informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.

  • Track and report project progress, risks, and issues, escalating concerns as appropriate to the Strategy Advancement Advisor, COO and leadership team.

  • Foster strong relationships across departments to promote collaboration and alignment of project goals with enterprise priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Must reside in Michigan and can travel to the Detroit area office and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS ​) periodically for meetings.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Five (5) or more years of project management experience.

  • Experienced in Medicare or Medicaid managed care.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.

  • Proven expertise in process improvement and documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience supporting cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced working in a similar area for a Duals program.

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Smartsheet.

  • Six Sigma and / or Project Management Institute certification.

Additional Information

  • Workstyle: This is a remote position with travel.

  • Travel: Up to 20% travel, including occasional visits to Humana’s Detroit office for team engagement meetings and to the MDHHS for business meetings.

  • Workdays and Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$86,300 - $118,700 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
