McLaren Health Care Physical Therapist Assistant - McLaren Careers in Lansing, Michigan
Works under the direction and
supervision of the physical therapist. The physical therapist assistant implements
selected components of patient interventions (treatment), obtains data related
to the interventions provided, and makes modifications in selected
interventions either to progress the patient as directed by the physical
therapist or to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
:
Implementsthe individualized plan of care as established by the physical therapist.
Adjuststreatment interventions in response to patient feedback, objective data andobservation within the established plan of care. Identifies need for changes inplan of care and communicates with supervising physical therapist.
Assiststhe physical therapist with managing the established discharge plan throughouttreatment.
Supervisesand delegates to ancillary staff and students consistent with state laws anddepartment policy.
Completeslegible, accurate, and clear documentation within the established timeframeidentified in the department policy and procedure and in accordance withaccreditation requirements and insurance regulations.
Communicateswith the patient, family, caregivers, significant others, and members of thehealth care team to promote maximum benefit of care utilizing AIDET.
Identifieseducational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other andprovides education to meet those needs.
Participatesin professional growth and development through participation in educationalprograms, including in-service meetings, workshops, and by reading currentliterature concerning scope of practice.
Activelyparticipates in quality improvement activities.
Provides anenvironment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.Complies with appropriate and approved safetystandards.
Functionswithin scope of practice as defined by the state’s practice act.
Performs other related duties as required anddirected.
Required:
Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program.
Current state Board of Physical Therapist Assistant licensure.
BLS certification
P referred:
- One year of physical therapist assistant experience.
