LG Energy Solution Maintenance Technician I in Lansing, Michigan
What You'll Do
- Day to day coverage of production line equipment: respond to alarms, breakdowns, and Production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime
- Diagnose equipment failures, find the root cause and communicates actions taken to the rest of the team
- Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all industrial production and mechatronics equipment, take initiative to improve PM documents and schedules, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Leads
- Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, (some weekends and holidays required)
- Use Equipment Management system (EMS, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking)
- Work with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime
- Follow all aspects of Maintenance Safety protocol (LOTO, 5-S, Arc Flash, etc.), to ensure that the maintenance team operates safely at all times, always leading by example
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees', wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends and holidays.
- Manual dexterity to grasp and work with tool parts and equipment.
- Ability to climb and work from ladder or platform, and endure sitting, standing, bending or twisting for extended periods and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate under extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to cope with environmental conditions which may include exposure to congestion and varying noise levels.
Qualifications
Requirements - Required and/or Preferred:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Vocational Certificate or Associates Degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience
- Journeyman's certificate or equivalent preferred
Experience:
- 1-3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
- PLC experience preferred
- Understanding of production and processing equipment
- Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
Essential Qualifications:
Three (3) or more years of experience working in a maintenance capacity on production manufacturing equipment and/or have equivalent training or relevant education
Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical assembly drawings and accurately measure and inspect tolerances
Advanced computer skills (able to use job-specific PC applications and coach other users)
Solid electrical knowledge (has a thorough understanding of electrical requirements and hazards)
Advanced skills with voltmeter to check AC/DC voltage, able to diagnose issues, able to use a schematic diagram to troubleshoot electrical systems
Proficient with pneumatics-solenoid valves, actuator and control operations and can read schematics as well as, proficient with basic hydraulic system operations as well as ability to analyze problems and error
