Job Description
The Michigan Civil Service Commission is looking for a motivated individual who is organized, has exemplary analytical and problem-solving skills, and is interested in working in a fast-paced Human Resources environment. This position will serve as a Human Resources Student Assistant assisting with labor relations activities serving the Department of Health and Human Services.
Ideal candidates will have:
A strong understanding of the labor relations field.
Ability to investigate, analyze, interpret, and apply policies, rules, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Education and Experience
This position generally requires current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institutions. Specific information on the education and experience required for different class levels is in thejob specifications of the Student Assistant class. Additional Requirements and Information
The student must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution.
Student Assistant positions cannot exceed 129 working hours in a calendar month and must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per term, providing proof of enrollment at the start of each term. Student Assistant appointments end the month in which the student graduates or is no longer enrolled in school. A Student Assistant position cannot exceed six years unless otherwise approved by Human Resources.
