The Coordinator provides leadership, oversight, and management for the day-to-day operations of clinical experiences within the Community Health Services Education and Medical Assistant (CHSE/MEDA) Programs. They work collaboratively with the Program Director, faculty, healthcare agencies, and area hospitals to coordinate and maintain the highest caliber of practical training in the clinical environment. In partnership with the Program Director, the Clinical Coordinator actively recruits, develops, and maintains collaborative partnerships with external clinical affiliates and service providers. They also are responsible for overseeing student participation in clinical tracking software, student compliance on clinical eligibility requirements like immunizations, as well as assisting with scheduling and coordination of clinical opportunities for students. The Clinical Coordinator of CHSE/MEDA functions as the clinical liaison between LCC and the clinical affiliate. They provide orientation, support, and mentoring of clinical preceptors, faculty, and students. In collaboration with the Program Director, they ensure the programs reflect current work place and industry requirements and remain in compliance with State and accreditation standards. The position requires exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students and the administrative, technical, and medical staffs at the clinical sites. Clinical Coordinators must be knowledgeable about each area, and higher education best practices. *Please note -- The term "clinical" is interchangeable with Practicum or Externship, as applicable to the appropriate program.
