The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

 

Specific Job Duties:
  • Coordinate all technical activity and maintain accurate records pertaining to the paint system PLC equipment including but not restricted to board revisions, software revisions, ladder logic, documentation and all associated interfaces.

  • Liase with the maintenance staff appropriately to ensure all electrical systems, PLC's and robots are maintained to their optimum operating level.

  • Coordinate engineering modifications and new projects for automation, PLC and robotic equipment as required ensuring all work is in accordance with the local and state regulations.

  • Continuously review and consider new technologies (PLC or otherwise) as they apply to DexSys. 

  • Assume project management responsibilities for any project assigned by management.

  • Provide Electrical Engineering support as required as it applies to all other aspects of the current and any future systems.

  • Perform other duties as directed.

     

Related Work Experience
  • Must have documented experience with the Allen Bradley or similar PLC equipment (hardware, software and ladder logic) and strong PC skills.

  • Documented experience with robotic equipment and related interfaces.

  • Experience reading electrical and electronic schematics.

 
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study preferred.

  •  Work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  •  Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.

     

Physical Requirements

This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while

standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day, the ability to lift up to15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, and the ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the shoulders on an occasional basis.  Ability to climb stairs is necessary.  Ability to wear a respirator is required.  Good vision at a close distance is required.
