HTC Global Services Inc AWS Data Solutions Senior Engineer in Lansing, Michigan
We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Data Solutions Engineer that can work onsite 2 days and 3 days remotely on a weekly basis to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high‑performance cloud and data solutions. This role requires deep expertise in AWS, Databricks, Elastic Search, Python/Scala, and complex data architectures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL development, data warehousing, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) HL7 solutions.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, participate in the full SDLC, and contribute to delivering secure, efficient, and innovative data solutions aligned to organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of scalable, high‑performance solutions using AWS cloud services.
Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines using modern data engineering practices.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Python or Scala.
Build cloud-based applications leveraging AWS services, including S3 and related components.
Implement and manage Elastic Search engines for optimized data retrieval and analysis.
Utilize Databricks for data processing, data transformations, and advanced analytics workflows.
Work with EHR HL7 integrations and solutions.
Design robust logical and physical database models and develop database objects such as stored procedures and functions.
Apply experience with data warehousing, data visualization tools, and data integrity best practices.
Execute the full SDLC, including gathering requirements, writing functional/technical specifications, and preparing design documentation.
Use source control tools such as GIT to manage and maintain version control.
Create software design documents and coordinate reviews and approval cycles with stakeholders.
Interpret flowcharts, create screen layouts, and produce documentation to support system requirements.
Contribute to and work effectively within large agile project environments.
(Nice to Have) Assist in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Required Skills & Experience
12+ years developing complex database systems.
8+ years hands-on with Databricks.
8+ years using Elastic Search and Kibana.
8+ years programming in Python and/or Scala.
8+ years working with Oracle databases.
5+ years developing ETL processes and data pipelines.
5+ years AWS cloud development experience.
5+ years experience with data warehousing, data visualization tools, and data integrity frameworks.
5+ years working with CMM/CMMI Level 3 methodologies.
5+ years implementing agile development practices including test-driven development.
3+ years experience or working knowledge of Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines (Nice to Have).
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of EHR systems and HL7 interfaces.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional engineering teams.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
