2nd Shift - Production Team Lead

Job Summary:

The Production Team Leader is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the production department, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. This role coordinates workflow, assigns tasks, monitors performance, and provides guidance and support to production team members. The Production Team Leader serves as the primary point of contact between the production floor and management, helping to resolve issues, drive productivity, and promote a positive and collaborative work environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and support production team members by providing direction, training, and hands-on assistance as needed.
  • Provide input on production schedules and labor requirements to ensure efficient completion of job assignments.
  • Help establish and enforce standardized work procedures and best practices for quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for resolving technical challenges on the shop floor.
  • Ensure all customer shipments are packaged accurately and on time.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinating operations to meet production goals and customer demand.
  • Work closely with the Production Supervisor to develop and maintain a skills matrix for the department.
  • Monitor inventory and material need and manage ordering of all required packaging and supplies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Ensure organization and cleanliness on the Production floor and shared areas.
  • Support a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of production goals.
  • Adherent to all safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Perform all job-related duties, including but not limited to the responsibilities outlined above, and any additional responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • At least 3 year's experience working within a manufacturing environment required.
  • At least 1 year experience leading a team within a manufacturing environment.

Background Prerequisites:

Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.
