Job Title: Interrelated Special Education Teacher
Reports to: Director of Special Education and Building Principal
Purposes and Objectives of the Position:
The Interrelated Special Education Teacher develops curriculums which will enable all student(s) with
disabilities to take advantage of their learning strengths and overcome their identified needs that
they may have the opportunity to achieve their overall potential.
Qualifications:
Minimum of at least a Kansas teaching endorsement in an area of special education or the
ability to obtain endorsement through a waiver
General Duties and Requirements
Instruct special education students in a variety of settings as indicated by IEP team.
Attend and participate in general education team planning.
Responsible for safety and well-being of students while in school.
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans.
Hold annual IEP meetings and 3-year re-evaluation meetings.
Collect data on IEP objectives for quarterly IEP progress reports.
Communicate with parents as necessary.
Supervise the delivery of special education services by assigned para-educators.
Collaborate with other teachers on students, curriculum, scheduling and behavior management.
Make curriculum adaptations for special education students in general education classes.
Participate as a member of the school staff by assuming duties required of all teachers.
Maintain professional skills by attending staff development activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to physically adapt to the compressed time schedule of a school day and year.
