Location Description
Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a more safe product to the foodservice industry.
Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cost Accountant is responsible for the preparation and analysis of accounting reports related to manufacturing processing at the Lansing facility, shell egg reconciliation, including shrink, production efficiencies and downtime. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for weekly operational reporting related to manufacturing processing at the Lansing facility.
• Accumulate and review daily production documents and enter production statistics into files for additional reporting.
• Responsible for monitoring inventories (chemicals, raw materials, work in process, rework, and finished goods) to ensure their accuracy.
• Activities include: physical count updates in SAP, periodic cycle counts, and research of material count variances, reconciliations and applicable shrink reporting.
• Responsible for material setup, of new or existing items. Monitor updates to existing products and materials as necessary.
• Responsible for maintaining and preparing standard cost estimates.
• Responsible for assisting in the month-end accounting including the completion of journal entries as assigned.
• Assist with the completion of annual budgets.
• Assist in the development of new reports as requested to support plant operations.
• Complete special projects or other duties as required.
• Adhere to practices that ensure SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance. To include, but not limited to, obtaining management approval of material order variances and coordinating raw material cycle counting utilizing A,B,C methodology.
• Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
• Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
• Participation in plant safety team.
• Insures regulatory compliance at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or Associates degree in accounting with equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE:
• Two years accounting experience is required
• MS Office expertise required. SAP experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills to effectively interact with others.
• Highly motivated individual able to work in fast-paced environment.

The pay range for this position is $61,205 - $85,688 per year.
