Location Description

Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a more safe product to the foodservice industry.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. Ensures regulatory Compliance

Break down pallets of raw product and load conveyor belt to transport product to pasteurizers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Check product quality (dirty, broken, etc.)

  2. Keep machines running efficiently

  3. Make sure material is kept separated, neat and stored properly and labeled.

  4. To follow all HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines

  5. Perform repetitive motion with hands while disassembling/assembling pallets and loading materials onto conveyor.

  6. Watch, correct and report safety issues.

  7. Communicate issues to production management and maintenance.

  8. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

  9. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

No prior experience or training.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Specific skills and abilities required that are not included in other sections:

  1. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

  2. Must be able to safely lift 35 lbs. occasionally.

  3. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  4. Ability to stand on hard surface for most of shift.

Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed

The pay range for this position is $17.00 to $20.00 per hour.
