Maintenance Technician

Collins Brothers Sawmill, Inc. is looking to add a full-time Maintenance Technician to our team in L'Anse, Michigan. This position will maintain all equipment in a manner that allows for safe operation, maintain equipment that prevent any downtime from occurring from mechanical failure, and maintain the inside and outside of all buildings.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities will include:

· Keep equipment operational at all times

· Perform preventative and regular maintenance on equipment, buildings, tools, and any/all machinery

· Make mechanical adjustments where needed to meet product demands

· Keep loaders safe and operable

· Keep accurate records of all maintenance problems and/or repairs

· Order supplies and parts as needed

· Maintain a safe workplace and culture, and complete required safety forms, checklists, and permits

· Perform Lockout/Tagout procedures

· Ensure the maintenance department is kept orderly and clean

· Follow all safety procedures and policies, working together with co-workers to ensure a safe work environment and culture

· Willing to work overtime and some weekends depending on need

· All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience required

· Must be at least 18 years of age

· High school diploma or equivalent is required

· Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

· Must be mechanically inclined and have the ability to troubleshoot

· Have a working knowledge of welding, electrical, hydraulic, and control technology

· Familiar with safe equipment practices

· Must have demonstrated leadership and team skills

· Able to lift 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally, climb steps and ladders, work from heights, bend or stoop, and stand or walk for long periods in order to perform the essential job functions

· Able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety equipment
