Summary
Under direct supervision, prepare regular work orders using the pre-press machine and operate the Vutek Grand Format printer, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality to support efficient production processes. Support a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures, taking personal responsibility for safety, reporting hazards or concerns promptly, and contributing to a culture that prioritizes safety every day.
This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Lanham, MD.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prepares and sends digital files to Vutek Grand Format printer.
Provides additional large format technical support.
Manages a production workflow to accurately produce banner graphics to minimize waste, labor and costs.
Communicates directly with prepress, finishing and shipping departments to ensure critical deadlines are met and quality expectations are exceeded.
Collaboration with design and production teams to achieve high-quality outputs.
Interpret and utilize internal production documentation (GPOs, CAD designs, and detailed design renderings) to drive project execution.
Deliver outstanding customer service: Prioritize client needs and ensure a positive experience that fosters loyalty and trust.
Demonstrate strong adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing change and remaining productive under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
Identify and solve issues by analyzing information and developing solutions to drive continuous improvement and operational success.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Complete required safety training and apply safe work practices at all times.
Immediately report any workplace accidents, near misses, hazards, or unsafe conditions to a manager or through an appropriate reporting channel.
Participate in safety discussions and communicate concerns or feedback openly to help maintain a safe work environment.
Use tools, equipment, and protective gear properly to prevent injuries and incidents.
Preform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 1 year experience operating Vutek Grand Format printers and related large-format printing productions.
Basic understanding of maintenance procedures for Digital printers.
Familiar with internal production documentation, including GPOs, CAD designs, and design renderings.
Basic understand of Print Factory or RIP Software, including Onyx, Caldera and Fiery.
Knowledge of various graphic production equipment, materials, and applications.
Proficient in Adobe illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Photoshop.
Profecient written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
Requires organizational, analytical and follow-up skills with a keen attention to detail.
Previous experience working with deadline-driven goals, demonstrating flexibility in responding to changing requirements and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements.
Ability to consistently follow safety rules and contribute to a positive safety culture.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
OSHA 10 Certification required.
