Science Systems and Applications, Inc. Earth Science Metadata Lead in Lanham, Maryland
Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI) has an opening for a Metadata Lead (ML) to direct efforts supporting NASA’s Crustal Dynamics Data Information System (CDDIS). The ML has primary responsibility for creation and management of all CDDIS collection- and granule-level metadata within the NASA Common Metadata Repository (CMR) system.
Required Qualifications:
BS/BA in a physical science, math or engineering discipline and 10 years of professional experience including experience with NASA Earth Science Metadata.
Ability to work independently to manage a very large number of CDDIS metadata records.
Experience with Digital Object Identifier (DOI), as it relates to NASA Earth Science datasets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in government contracting environment.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of NASA Common Metadata Repository tools and process.
Experience with linux systems including user functionality and shell scripting.
Familiarity with Python software development, including version control and regression testing as well as Agile & Scrum Practices.
