Employment Type: Full Time
Shift: 12hrs/wk, day shift. Every other Saturday and Sunday. Per department needs.
Location: St. Mary Medical Center - Langhorne, PA
Position Purpose
The primary job responsibility for the Medication History Pharmacy Technician is to obtain and document in the electronic order management system, in a timely manner, the medication and allergy histories for patients admitted to inpatient status through the emergency department. This information will be used by physicians and other health care providers to determine treatment plans, and will provide the basis for medication orders during and following the hospital stay. The Medication History Technician must communicate effectively and courteously with patients and health care providers, using interview skills, listening techniques, medication knowledge, and available resources to develop a complete and accurate electronic list of medications and allergies for each patient. Medication History Technicians will also be responsible for performing other specialty functions, including but not limited to workload evaluation, position justification, continuing quality improvement, or other assignments in support of hospital and pharmacy operations, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
HS Diploma or Equivalent
PharmacyTechnician (PTCB) certificationwithin 1 year of hire dateor Pa Registered Pharmacy Internenrolled in Pharmacy school.
