Pay Rate: $26.72 - 29.72 (pay increases with training proficiency)
$26.72 stage 1 (beginner trainee/completed 25% training knowledge)
$27.72 stage 2 (completed 50% training knowledge)
$28.72 stage 3 (completed 75% training knowledge)
$29.72 fully trained
The Opportunity:
The Gluer Operator is in charge on the glue line and is ultimately responsible for glue line\u2019s safety, quality, and efficiency. This position plays a critical role as they are responsible for setting up the gluer and ensuring the entire line can run good product efficiently. The Gluer Operator is responsible for overseeing work and giving work instructions to the Assistant Gluer Operator and Gluer Associates to perform at the highest level.
Key Outcomes / Accountabilities
Follow all safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions to a lead or manager
Make ready the folder gluer and ensure the remaining equipment has been set up correctly
Lead crew throughout the entire shift giving work instructions and ensuring the crew is performing and working as a team
Able to run and setup all Straight-line Gluers, Robots, Case Erectors, and Packers
Ensure good quality products are produced by performing routine quality checks for conformance
Expected to work with the Assistant Gluer Operator to teach them how to operate the gluer
Troubleshoot the glue line and resolve any operational downtime events
Rotate with others on the line to give ergonomic relief as rotation schedule dictates
Perform machine preventative maintenance, DEC, 5S, and general housekeeping
Accurately input quality and production data into the corresponding systems
Ensure copy changes are performed correctly by following the line clearance procedure
Perform at the highest efficiency level - run the gluer at or above target speed with maximum uptime and low waste
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1-2 year experience in gluing folding cartons or comparable manufacturing or mechanical experience
Strong mechanical aptitude - able to interpret how pieces of the machine work together to achieve functionality
Ability to read materials to understand and apply content such as instruction manuals, procedure manuals or assembly manuals
Ability to write, in order to accomplish such tasks as completing forms or communicating simple instructions
Ability to perform basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Ability to carryout tasks which require a sequence of steps usually performed in a particular order - the problems are routine and easy to recognize
Ability to make decisions that are short-range and usually affect only a small group or work team
Ability to complete tasks as assigned by others with occasional direction
Ability to communicate, explain and interpret well-defined business issues or procedures following established patterns

Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and other safety gear as required
Continuous standing and walking
Occasional kneeling, crouching, squatting and bending
