Penn Medicine Lactation Consultant - RN - Roseville Pediatrics (Part Time) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Location: Roseville Pediatrics - CityGate & Kissel Hill locations

Hours: Part Time, 28 hours per week, 3-4 days per week depending on desired 8-12 hour days, 1 Friday & 1 Monday per pay period, no weekends

Summary:

  • Provide new mothers with educational resources and guidance related to lactation. Providing on site lactation services minimizes delays in lactation consultation and allows for a streamlined baby-centric experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides lactation consultation to new mothers.

  • Provides consultation to mothers using the Breast-feeding Help Line

  • Provides educational support including material, to mothers for breast-feeding.

  • Performs patient assessments, focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive functions.

  • Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes and adapts the plan of care based on recognized trends and changes.

  • Collects and manages comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation.

  • Participates in process improvement activities.

  • Completes mandatory education and training that includes age-specific needs, caring behaviors, and interpersonal skills.

  • Maintains a safe working environment through compliance with established evidence-based practice policies and procedures and timely reporting of safety variances.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)

  • Education Specialization:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher level nursing degree.

  • A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal or state health insurance programs, i.e. not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal or state health insurance program

  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant

  • Registered Nurse - PA

  • 2 years experience as a lactation consultant

  • 2 years experience maternal/child health clinical experience

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
