Smurfit Westrock Production Supervisor in Lancaster, Ohio

The Opportunity:

The Corrugator Supervisor will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of production within the Corrugated Container facility. In this role you will communicate performance expectations to ensure production targets and metrics are met, achieve production demands, supervise machine productivity and quality, as well as supervising, coaching, and mentoring of team members.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

\u2022 Execute safety briefs to team members on designated shift, daily, weekly, monthly and annually

\u2022 Monitor workplace safety environment to identify and address any unsafe conditions

\u2022 Ensure compliance with company safety policies, safe work practices, and plant policies

\u2022 Monitor and track production daily goals for the Converting machines utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report results on the plant scorecard

\u2022 Manage workforce planning, including fulfillment of work schedules and adherence to attendance policies (vacations, floating days, call ins, etc.)

\u2022 Communicate effectively with all functional areas of the plant to ensure all production needs are successfully achieved

\u2022 Promote positive employee relations and interdepartmental communication and collaboration

\u2022 Supervise daily production activities, including oversight of team members, and monitor performance levels of each team member

\u2022 Monitor and participate in Daily Management Systems (DMS) to track progress against production goals and enable performance excellence

What you need to succeed:

\u2022 High School diploma or G.E.D. - Required

\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree (Business Management, Engineering or Operations Management) - Preferred

\u2022 3+ years of converting supervisory experience in a packaging facility - Required.

\u2022 Experience working in a Lean environment; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.

\u2022 Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain

\u2022 Excellent communication and listening skills.

\u2022 Proven track record of effective problem-solving

\u2022 Ability to embrace continuous improvement.

\u2022 Strong collaboration and teaming skills with stakeholders across functions

\u2022 Ability to coach and train employees

\u2022 Ability to be an on-shift resource for troubleshooting problems in the process as well as maintenance issues.

\u2022 Ability to make independent, effective decisions.

\u2022 Possess the ability to be a self-directed team player.

\u2022 Flexibility to work multiple shifts.
