Sealing Devices Manufacturing Quality Engineer in Lancaster, New York
Description
What You’ll Do:
Manufacturing & Process Quality
Support Administration and Production Process Owners in developing, documenting, and maintaining effective manufacturing and process controls
Partner with Production, Process Engineering, and Operations to improve and validate manufacturing processes
Assess process performance and support corrective actions when quality issues arise
Inspection & Product Conformance
Develop and maintain inspection plans based on customer, engineering, and industry requirements
Determine appropriate inspection and test equipment for product acceptance
Recommend improvements to inspection methods and work instructions
Nonconformance & Corrective Action
Investigate internal and customer-reported nonconformances
Assess scope, containment, root cause, and corrective action effectiveness
Monitor nonconformance trends and identify opportunities for process improvement
Facilitate structured problem-solving activities (RCA, CAPA, 8D, etc.)
Supplier & Audit Support
Request and administer Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs)
Work directly with suppliers to resolve quality issues
Participate in internal audits and support external and recertification audits
Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS)
Documentation & Compliance
Contribute to quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection documentation
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and ISO standards
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality function
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field
Experience in a manufacturing or production quality environment
Knowledge of ISO-based Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 preferred)
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures
Hands-on experience with inspections, audits, and corrective actions
Preferred:
Experience working with suppliers and customer quality issues
Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, control plans, SPC, or root cause analysis
ASQ certifications (CQA, CQE) are a plus
Salary ranges for this position are determined based upon the job location and can be adjusted based upon experience, reflecting our commitment to valuing the expertise and contributions of our individual team members. Salary for this role is $68,000.00- $75,000.00 per year based upon experience.
