Sealing Devices Item and Routing Creation Specialist in Lancaster, New York
Description
The Item Creation & Routing Data Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate product and manufacturing data within the company’s ERP system. This role supports manufacturing operations by creating new item records, and establishing accurate production routings. The position works closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and planning teams to ensure item and routing data supports efficient production scheduling, cost accuracy, and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
Item Master Data Management
Create and maintain item master records in the ERP system.
Enter and update product specifications, units of measure, item descriptions, and classification data.
Ensure all new part numbers are created according to company standards.
Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing attributes.
Routing and Manufacturing Data
Develop and maintain manufacturing routings within the ERP system.
Enter production steps, work centers, labor standards, and machine times.
Support production planning by ensuring routing accuracy for scheduling and capacity planning.
Data Accuracy & Maintenance
Audit item, BOM, and routing data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Identify and correct discrepancies in ERP system records.
Maintain documentation for data standards and procedures.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and inventory teams to gather required information.
Assist with ERP data requests from internal departments.
Support new product introductions by preparing necessary system data.
Reporting & Support
Generate reports related to item setup, BOM structures, and routings as requested.
Assist with ERP system data cleanup projects.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to data management.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field.
1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, ERP data entry, production planning, or inventory control.
Experience working with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic computer systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOM), routings, and production processes.
Familiarity with engineering drawings or part specifications.
Experience supporting ERP implementations or system upgrades.

Salary ranges for this position are determined based upon the job location and can be adjusted based upon experience, reflecting our commitment to valuing the expertise and contributions of our individual team members. Salary range for this role is $22 to $27/hour.
