Robert Half Human Resources Generalist in Lancaster, California
Description We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support a wide range of HR activities in an onsite manufacturing setting. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who can balance recruiting, employee support, compliance, and HR administration while building strong partnerships across the organization. The role requires someone who is organized, responsive, and comfortable managing both day-to-day HR operations and employee-facing programs.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with department leaders to assess workforce needs, shape hiring plans, and support effective staffing decisions.
• Source, screen, and coordinate candidates through the recruitment process, including reference checks and employment offers.
• Lead onboarding activities for new employees, facilitate orientation, and coordinate required pre-employment screenings.
• Maintain personnel documentation such as job descriptions, status changes, and employee records with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Support compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws while assisting with policy updates and handbook revisions.
• Respond to employee concerns, advise supervisors on workplace matters, and help foster a respectful and productive work environment.
• Administer benefits communications and annual open enrollment activities, including helping employees understand available plan options.
• Track performance review cycles and assist managers in ensuring evaluations are completed consistently and aligned with organizational expectations.
• Manage workers’ compensation processes by reporting incidents, coordinating with external providers, arranging modified duty, and monitoring case progress.
• Prepare recurring recruitment and hiring reports to provide visibility into staffing activity and trends. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree with 5–10 years of human resources experience, master’s degree in human resource management with at least 5 years of experience, 7 years of related HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and background.
• At least 5 years of experience in human resources with strength in HR administration, onboarding, HRIS, and employee relations.
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and the ability to apply them appropriately in recruiting and employee matters.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work well independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
