TFC MANUFACTURING, INC. Quality Engineer in Lakewood, California
QUALITY ENGINEER
An Aerospace Quality Engineer ensures manufactured components meet strict aerospace standards ((AS9100)), regulatory requirements ((FAA/EASA)), and customer specifications. They develop inspection processes, conduct root cause analysis ((RCCA/CAPA)) on defects, and drive continuous improvement on the production floor to ensure safety, reliability, and zero-defect quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with (AS9100), (ISO 9001:2015), and NADCAP certifications.
- Root Cause/Corrective Action: Utilize tools like 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone to analyze defects, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
- Production Quality Control: Perform product inspections, First Article Inspections ((FAI)), and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis ((PFMEA)).
- Documentation and Auditing: Perform internal audits, supplier surveillance, and maintain quality documents like control plans and inspection instructions.
- Process Improvement: Use statistical process control ((SPC)) and MSA to monitor trends and reduce rework or scrap.]
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Quality) or equivalent work experience in related technical field.
- Experience: (5+) years of quality experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with blueprint reading (GDandT), inspection tools, and ERP systems.
- Certifications: CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or CQA (Certified Quality Auditor) preferred.
Physical/Work Environment
- Requires working in a shop environment to perform hands-on inspections.

Main duty is to inspect production parts against specifications per customer drawings. Experience in the industry is preferred but more than experience, we need someone who is detail oriented, a fast learner, a team player, and a hard worker.
